Stop spending money on organizing solutions that don't work!

New clients are constantly telling me that they have purchased many organizing solutions, but nothing seems to work.  They spend lots of money on unused and unnecessary products that frankly, are just not the right solution.

I always say that "you can not buy a solution, until you know what the solution is for!"

A few examples:

1.  Are you looking for a way to organize your shoes. Well, do you have 12 pair or 60 pairs?  Once you can define this, you can purchase the appropriate storage unit.

These are 3 of my favorites:

I use clear shoe boxes to place out of season and special occasion shoes on the shelf above the hanging clothes in the closet.

They can be stacked to maximize the storage space.

2.  Do you need to keep papers on your desk?  How many topics do you have, such as "to do", bills to be paid, activities, reading, etc..  The answer will lead you to the solution with the proper amounts of slots or space.   These systems can hold the items or marked folders.

I recommend:

A note: I do not recommend trays that stack.  Papers get lost and are not easily accessible.

3.  Are you storing items on a shelf, but they keep falling over and are always a mess?  It could be purses, cutting boards, binders, anything.

Well, this simple design will keep your items neat and tidy:

4.  To make packing a breeze, I always have a second set of toiletries ready to go.  Below are some of my favorite containers that pack easily and do not leak.

(I used these bottles when I traveled to Italy and loved them!)

There are many places to shop for your organizing needs, but for me The Container Store is my “go-to place”.

You can shop in-store or online. If you place your order online, you can have it shipped right to your house (free for orders over $75*), or you can choose free in-store pick-up.

You can easily be overwhelmed by all the wonderful products.  Of course, you can always go to look, take notes and photos, but go home and get the answers to your needs before you purchase.  This will insure that you do not waste your money and time.  When you are ready to purchase a solution, I always recommend to go shopping with a specific need in mind and know what the solution is for so that you will choose the best and correct organizing product.

Happy Shopping! Enjoy getting organized!
