Do your cars fit in the garage?

Deanne CapotostoComment

As a Professional Organizer, I've organized many garages.  It is a common problem that cars do not fit in the garage, tools can not be found, items can not be reached and overall, the area is just plain dirty.

Organizing a garage can be simple.  Really!  Choose a nice day and get the family or a friend involved to help you.

This is all you have to do:

1.  Pull everything out of the garage, one thing at a time.

2.  Sort each item into piles in the driveway; Trash, Recycle, Donate, Return to the Neighbor, and "Like things” together.

3.  Sweep out the garage.

4.  Return the items to the garage, placing "like things" together, making room for cars and keeping as many items off the floor as possible.

It is that simple!

My “go to” garage organization system is Gladiator by Whirlpool Corporation.  I have used it in my own home and for many clients over the years.

The Gear Track channel and accessories system allows you to organize items, easily access them and keep them off the floor.  It is simple to install and is very durable.

You can place other items in a Gladiator Cabinet, such as gardening tools, cleaning products and small items.

In honor of your upcoming garage organizing project, D Living Simply is hosting a special giveaway! The lucky winner of the May Giveaway will receive a garage consultation and some great Gladiator by Whirlpool products.  If you are local, the organizing consult will be in person.  If not, we will have a phone consultation and you can email me photos of your garage.  In order to be entered to win, all you have to do is post a photo of your garage to our Facebook page.

Now, go put a date on your calendar to get that garage organized once and for all.  I can’t wait to see your garage!
