Hi. I’m Deanne Capotosto. I am a Professional Organizer and Life Coach.

My obsession with organizing began at a very young age.  My mother says that even at two years old, I was very concerned with things being put away properly.

Growing up I was known as “Mrs. Clean”.  My parents often hosted dinner parties, and I would go behind the guests, tidying everything up. Whenever one of my three brothers needed help sorting out a desk, or cleaning a room, I was the girl for the job. My mother tells me my own room was always spotless, like a page out of House Beautiful.

I grew up in an Italian-American family in Rhode Island. My mother was a military brat. Her father was in the Army Corp of Engineers. She spent her childhood traveling all over the globe. When she settled down and married my father, she carried that military standard of orderliness into her homemaking and her teaching career.  My father was an analytical chemist, and he taught us all how to be thorough and organized in whatever we did. My parents taught us that there was no reward like self-satisfaction and the reward of a job well done.

When I graduated from high school, I attended the United States Military Academy, where the utmost discipline was required in every detail of what we did. As you can imagine, I thrived there. I graduated from Providence College and began a successful career in sales, marketing and management.

I always wanted to own my own business.  I knew instantly that I wanted to be a Professional Organizer when I discovered the profession through an article in the local paper. In 2004 I turned my passion into a career and started “D Customized Organizing”. It has been the most satisfying job I’ve ever had. I do what I love every day, and I know that I am helping so many people better their lives. I bring lots of energy and compassion to each job that I do.

I do not expect my clients to be as organized as I am.  My job is to set up a system that works for each of my clients and that can be maintained.  You can have a messy home and still be organized….this simply means that you have a system and can clean up in a matter of minutes.  A place for everything, and everything in it’s place.

In my spare time I love cooking, biking, babysitting my adorable nieces and nephews, or traveling to far-away places.
